Sialendoscopy

Sialendoscopy is a procedure in which a thin flexible endoscope is introduced into the salivary gland ducts. This procedure can be used to diagnose salivary ductal stones, narrowing of the salivary ducts (stenosis or strictures), etc. It is also performed for extraction of salivary duct stones or dilatation of a narrowed salivary duct. It can be carried out under local anesthesia as a day-care procedure.
